What to do before to arrive for a SINQ experiment?
Information about proposal evaluation:
Soon after the proposal review meetings the main proposers are informed electronically per DUO about the results of the proposal evaluation (typically middle of February and July).
Allocation of date for the experiment:
The respective instrument responsibles(s) will contact the first authors of the successful proposals soon after the DUO information to arrange a
reasonable date for the experiment. The experiment schedule can be inspected here.
Apply for badge and dosimeter:
Well in advance of the experiment (EU citizens: 3-4 weeks, users with other citizenships: 8-10 weeks) you should apply for badge and dosimeter by the aid of the
Digital User Office DUO. You will find the respective link from the user main menu within the box 'Experiment management'. Please, also have a look at the guidelines for foreign users. Please note that each visitor has to apply personally for his own badge/dosimeter by DUO.
Submission of Safety Sheets:
At the latest 2 weeks before the experiment we must receive the signed sample safety sheet. Please download the form, sign it and fax the sheet to the SINQ safety officer Jürg Shefer, Laboratory for Neutron Scattering, PSI, fax number: +41-56-310-2939.
Guest house reservation:
If you intend to stay in the PSI guest house please attach the guest house booking form to your badge request via the DUO system. Alternatively you can also use the web form to book a room or contact the guest house reception directly ( phone number: +41-56-310-3222). According to the experience made during the last years the PSI guest house is frequently completely booked and reservations should be made as early as possible. If your stay is funded by the EU program NMI3 please make the guest house reservation by contacting the PSI user office.
